💻 Netflix has announced a brand new eight-part horror series which has the Duffer Brothers on board - and it’s just around the corner. Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen lands on March 26, following a couple in the lead-up to their doomed wedding (not a spoiler, promise). Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six) and Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus) star.
🤮 The Cast of Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist movie has grown again. This time it’s Diane Lane (The Glass House, The Perfect Storm) making headlines as the newest recruit.
🎥 Found footage flick Dooba Dooba has been pulled from release at the last minute. Billed as the next Skinamarink, it follows a babysitter who is given an unusual set of instructions.
🧊 Joe Keery has teased fans about what to expect from his upcoming fungus horror, Cold Storage. He told SFX magazine: “There are some horrible, disgusting, shocking, tender and funny moments. It has everything.”
👻 How much do you love Scream? Star Matthew Lillard has announced he’s dropping a limited edition Scream-themed vodka with every bottle hand-signed by the actor himself. Ghost Face Vodka releases on February 9.

Just last week I was waxing lyrical about Netflix horror series Brand New Cherry Flavor (Scream Society #20) and so my jaw dropped when I saw that Haley Z. Boston, who served as a writer on the show, has created her own new horror series for the streamer.
The show is set over the course of a week as a couple prepare for their wedding. Other than that we don’t know a whole lot about the plot, but the first look pictures have been released this week and to quote Love Island All Stars, it’s giving… creepy AF.
In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Haley teased that the tone of Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen is “unsettling, getting-under-your-skin dread,” and honestly that sounds like just what the doctor ordered.
Alongside Haley there’s a raft of big talent involved including Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers on exec producing duty (take from that what you will), plus the directors behind Baby Reindeer and The Haunting of Bly Manor.
TLDR: Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen looks incredibly promising and has all the hallmarks of a five-star show. Don’t make me eat my words, Netflix…

You can’t go wrong with a Shudder Original lately, and Attachment is up there with one of the best on the platform.
The twisty tale is a heady blend of romance, religion and folklore, following a Danish actress, Maja, who falls for a much younger Jewish academic named Leah.
After a terrifying health scare, Leah is forced to move back in with her overbearing mother in London to recover. While Maja does her best to help, she finds herself being iced out by the matriarch, and things escalate from there.

Return to Silent Hill has been panned by pretty much everyone that has seen it so far. Both audiences and critics are in alignment that it’s baaaad.
For context, 2006’s Silent Hill (kinda bad but has Sean Bean in it) has a Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 63%, and 2012 sequel Silent Hill: Revelation (very bad but stars Kit Harington) has 35%. Return to Silent Hill? A measly 30%.
Conversation has now turned to a fake beard sported by Jeremy Irvine in his role as protagonist James Sunderland which isn’t doing anything to defeat the poor filmmaking allegations.
The stick-on beard even has an entire Reddit thread dedicated to it and the comments make for hilarious reading.
Maybe one day we’ll get an adaptation that’s as terrifying as the games, but for now they’re about as scary as Silent Hill 2’s infamous Dog Ending.

The lineup of talent behind Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen has me genuinely excited. Having the team from Baby Reindeer and Bly Manor on director duties with Haley Z. Boston's writing (loved Brand New Cherry Flavor) feels like a recipe for something truly unsettling. That description of "getting-under-your-skin dread" is exactly the kind of slow-burn horror I've been craving lately.
