Virtual insanity 😱 #26
An immersive Talk To Me spin-off has everyone, well, talking.
Happy Friday, horror lover! 👋 If you’re not on board the VR train yet then this week’s edition might just change your mind.
I’m already applying some frantic girl math to the META Quest 3. My mouse is wobbling dangerously over the add to basket button as we speak, so you better scroll on and leave me to it.
Before we get to the gory good stuff, are you subscribed yet? If you’re here you clearly have good taste, so why not make things official and hit the button below. It won’t bite.
Horror latest 🩸
✋ Talk To Me is getting a spin-off series set in Ibiza that will air exclusively in virtual reality. Made up of six 30-minute immersive episodes (helmed by Channel Zero director Craig William Macneill), it will follow a whole new cast of characters introduced to the afterlife.
😱 Scream 7 has set a new record in its opening weekend at the box office. The slasher brought in $64 million domestically, while Scream 6 managed $44 million.
🤮 The cast of Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist has expanded yet again, this time adding Sasha Calle and John Leguizamo to the roster. Fans may recognise Sasha from The Rip (2026) or The Flash (2023), in which she played Supergirl.
💔 Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell has announced to fans that he has been diagnosed with cancer that is “treatable, but not curable.” He is best known in the horror world for his role as Ash Williams in Sam Raimi’s film trilogy.
🩸 Slasher In A Violent Nature won acclaim for showing the perspective of the killer, and now fans have finally been treated to the first teaser for its upcoming sequel. A release date is TBC on this one.

A note from your editor ✨
An immersive VR horror spin-off of one of my all-time favourite horror films? Someone grab me a headset IMMEDIATELY.
AI videos of Will Smith eating spaghetti are getting better at the same rate the world is getting scarier (these two things are definitely related), but being able to actually step inside the films and TV shows you love is the kind of tech I’m totally here for. Sure it’s all a little bit Black Mirror-y, but not all of those episodes were completely miserable.
The closest I have ever come to getting inside a horror film is walking through the mazes at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, but imagine having an even more visceral experience at your fingertips…
What film or TV show would you love to step into using VR? Let me know in the comments.
Keep on screaming 😱,
Samantha

To a friend, I recommend… 🎀🩸
Channel Zero is the ultimate horror anthology series and I’ve yet to see one that tops it. Spanning four seasons, the show draws from urban legends and internet creepypastas.
Even if you’ve never heard of it, you’ll almost certainly have seen a picture of its iconic Tooth Monster (above) or the nightmarish Pretzel Jack (Google him at your own risk).
The Rotten Tomatoes crowd loved it too, with critics giving it a 93% rating on average, and audiences a respectable 85%.
The director of Channel Zero’s entire first season is the same guy bringing us the immersive Talk To Me spin-off, so we’re in for a real treat.
